Patches and Posies Charity day at Flowers for Jane Langwarrin

Patches and Posies Charity day at Flowers for Jane Langwarrin

What an incredible day — I'm still buzzing!

Honestly, where do I even start?! Last weekend was just so much fun and I'm still on a bit of a high from it all.

So for those who don't know, my mum used to run a patchwork shop called Primitive Patches in Parkdale/Mentone — she had it from 1995 all the way to 2012 and it was such a special place. A group of women who met there over the years have stayed friends ever since and call themselves the Primitive Patchers. They came and took over our property with the most gorgeous quilt hanging display AND a fabric de-stash, and honestly it looked absolutely amazing. There was so much to look at — guests were wandering around in the best possible way.

I also did a couple of flower demonstrations at 11:30am and again at 2:30pm — just a chance for people to watch me work and get a feel for what our workshops and flower parties are all about. Always love doing these — there's something really fun about chatting away while arranging flowers in front of a crowd!

We had door prizes and giveaways going every hour (always a crowd pleaser!) and the ladies had made the most beautiful raffle quilt especially for the day. It was seriously stunning — a total labour of love.

Entry was just $10 which included light refreshments, and all of that plus the raffle money went straight to The Sixth Child. I am SO proud to say that between everyone who came through the door and bought raffle tickets, we raised $1,234!! You guys are the best.

Thank you so much to all those who attended Sunday's Quilt Hanging Charity Day in aid of The Sixth Child. Congratulations to Sharan who won the raffle quilt handmade by the Primitive Patchers — such a deserving winner! And a huge thank you to Naomi Derrick for taking the most beautiful photos on the day. ❤️

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came, to the Primitive Patchers for being absolutely wonderful, and to everyone who got involved on the day. It really was one of those days I'll talk about for a long time.

And if you've been thinking about coming to one of our floristry workshops or flower parties — keep an eye out because there's more coming! I'd love to see you there.
